After struggling to deal with video that was stuttering from BBC HD iPlayer I think i have found a solution (using Windows 7).
The key to this was updating to the latest Nvidia Ion Graphics Driver, and using the beta 1 version of Adobe Flash.
Beta 1 is the only version that works. I have tested beta 2 and beta 3, both of these do not seem to utilise the GPU accelleration for one reason or another.
It is no longer possible to download both the plugin and activex flash files from the Adobe website so to help, I have included the two files below.
Please note that it is best to remove any previous installations of flash player before installing both the files below. I hope this helps a number of people out with similar problem.
Adobe Flash Player Beta 1 ActiveX Download
Adobe Flash Player Beta 1 Plugin Download

Ref your Acer Revo/BBC iplayer fix, are the Adobe Flash Beta 1 files suitable for 64bit Win 7?

Yes, since writing this article I have been advised that these work on both 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows 7.
Apparently there is no difference.
Hope that heps

Excellent, I have been baffled why all other flash content plays fine but the iPlayer is terrible!
Will try this later and report back
Thank you for publishing your findings!

Wow, massive improvement! Do you know if a similar thing is possible for the Adobe Air based iPlayer desktop?
Who broke it here? Some forums claim that the BBC must have changed encoding technique around the 24th or 14th or March?

I havn’t managed to get Adobe Air working smoothly yet, beta versions are meant to use the accellerated GPU, but again, doesn’t seem to work on the Revo yet
If I can find a solution I will post it here.

Can you advsie whether this works with the 3600 as well as the 3610? I am considering the base 3600 version (with base 1Gb Ram) but want to ensure it can handle HD media (including HD IPlayer) effectively

Thanks for the info, I’m going to have a go at this through XP as youtube HD video is very stuttery. iPlayer is generally fine but for high bitrate scenes there can be some chop.
For anyone having video issues you may find my post useful here:
